Piano Transitions
The Music Moves for Piano Keyboard Games A & B books were written for young children who are four- and five-years old. The introduction to this book states that "young children, at this developmental stage, can make music at the keyboard by improvising and playing short pieces." Lesson activities engage children in activities away from the keyboard using the voice and body movements.
Piano Transitions Classes help students develop a strong "aural" (listening) musical vocabulary, and begin to develop an "oral" (performing) vocabulary. In addition, students begin to organize the sounds of music, imitate musical patterns accurately, sing in tune, move with the beat, and develop beginning piano technique and keyboard skills using rote instruction.
Class size is 2-4 students. Classes are scheduled at a convenient time for interested students.
Tuition for Piano is $1045 for 34 weekly lessons, additional group lessons, and performances. Lessons are prorated for piano students who join our program second semester. Equal monthly payments ($104.50 for ten months or $87.00 for 12 months) can be made with automatic recurring billing or post-dated checks (due at first lesson). An annual studio registration and materials fee is $100 for Piano Lessons and $50 for Piano Transition students. Registration fees are fully refunded if we are not able to find a lesson time that works for your family. When you have reserved a lesson time for your child, please understand that payments must be made in full for each semester whether or not your child attends all of the lessons. We offer makeup lessons whenever possible, but the schedule does not always allow a makeup lesson. Withdrawal during the year can be made between semesters. Please alert the instructor before Christmas if you plan to withdraw so that teacher and student can have proper closure and the vacated lesson time can be filled second semester.
