Policies
In the interest of clarity and for the benefit of the students, parents and teachers, we ask that you read our policies and check the box that indicates you have read and understood our policies. We do our best to accomodate special circumstances and we ask that you communicate with us when issues arise. MUSIC TOGETHER POLICIES: --"Missing a class"-- Each family contributes to the class as a whole, so we appreciate your effort to attend each class. In the event that a class is missed, we do provide makeup classes, but we ask that families limit makeups to two per semester. Makeups are available at either our main location or our Intergenerational Raybrook location. To schedule a makeup, use the online makeup book or call the studio. (Please note: makeups do not carry over from previous semesters). If you know you’ll miss a class during the semester, please contact us and we will inform the teacher.--"Switching classes"-- Requests for class changes must be initiated within the first three weeks of the semester, and are made at the discretion of the director, depending on class availability. Changes may not be made after the third week of the semester.--"Class withdrawal"-- Families wishing to withdrawal from class must do so before the registration deadline for each semester (typically the first day of classes). Families are responsible for class attendance. Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal and all tuition fees are forfeited if the Music Moves office is not informed of your withdrawal before the registration deadline. If circumstances necessitate withdrawal from class, please call the Music Moves office. **PIANO POLICIES** --"Class withdrawal"-- Please understand that students are expected to pay in full for each semester whether or not they attend all of the lessons. Due to the curriculum and method of teaching, we find students benefit the most from regular attendance over a longer period of time so that each class can build on the next. This is why we have our students commit to a full year. If there is a special circumstance and you need to withdraw mid year, we ask that you discuss the issue with your teacher at least a month before the end of the first semester. --"Missing a lesson - make ups"-- We appreciate notification, by phone or email, if your child must miss a lesson. We do our best to schedule make up lessons, but our full teaching schedule sometimes makes this difficult during the week. However, Saturday group lessons provide an opportunity to receive additional lesson time if your child is not able to make up a missed lesson. **For other questions that you might have, please visit our FAQs**
